Laurens Weinhold is a Norwegian award-winning violinist and one of the best Scandinavian violinists in his generation. He enjoys a versatile performing career, playing numerous solo works, concerti, chamber music, contemporary music, and orchestral works every season. He has won first prizes in the National Norwegian Youth Music Competition, Sparre Olsen Competition, and the DNB National Soloist Competition 2014 Fjord Cadenza. Weinhold has received numerous grants, awards, and international scholarships including the Oleg Kagan scholarship from Kuhmo Festival, the Culture Carinthia Grant for participations in the Ossiach Academy on invitation of the members of the Vienna Philharmonic, and the Casalmaggiore Festival scholarship among others. He was the artist-in-residence in the 2018 Evmelia Festival.

Weinhold has performed at several international festivals including the ICMF, Fartein Valen Festival, Summit Music Festival, Casalmaggiore Festival, NYCMF, Mozarteum Salzburg, Klara Festival ,Norwegian Organ Festival, Kuhmo Festival, Ravel Festival, Klara Festival and Schiermonnikoog Young Talent Festival. His performances have been repeatedly broadcasted by Radio Klara, BBC and NRK.

Weinhold has played in major halls such as the Fartein Valen hall in the Stavanger Concert Hall, the Théâtre de la Monnaie (Brussels), the Town Hall in Kaunas, and the Palais Pallavicini in Vienna at the invitation of the Norwegian Embassy and the Musikverein.

Weinhold has been a soloist with the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, 1B1, Sandnes Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Young Masters Orchestra, Mainzer Virtuosi, and Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with famous conductors such as Rune Bergmann, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Alexander Zemtsov, Rune Bergmann, and Morten Wensberg

Weinhold is an experienced chamber musician. He has collaborated with, among others, Jakob Koranyi, Erling R. Eriksen, Sveinung Bjelland, Markus Schirmer, Anton Sorokow, Orfeo Mandozzi, Philipp Scheucher, Jie Zhang,and Bodil Victoria Arnesen. In the coming season, he will have many concerts as a member of the Ålesund String Quartet.
