Violinist Belle Ting has shown herself to be a versatile artist who is equally at home with interpreting the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and the Viennese Classic, having been described by the concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic, Rainer Honeck, as showcasing “beautiful playing, with impeccable style”, to the Romantic concerti that are often featured in today’s concert halls.
Praised as an artist whom, “When she plays, it feels like the piece was meant to be this way,” (Ivry Gitlis) her individual interpretations of concerti and recital repertoire, active championing of chamber music as a bridge between cultures, and innovative themed recital programming have shown her to be a rising fixture in the modern classical music scene. Having performed with orchestras like the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Moscow State Philharmonic and the Odense Symphony Orchestra under conductors such as Lan Shui, Jahja Ling, Gabor Kali, Gerhard Schmalfuss, and Michael Stern, she is additionally a prizewinner of over fifteen international competitions which include the International Brahms Competition, International Isaac Stern Competition, International Cooper Competition - Belle has also performed at events that include the Verbier, Conques, and Kirishima festivals. Her debut album, “Impressions” (2021), is centered on the works of Debussy, Ravel, Chausson, Saint-Saëns and Ysaye, and is available on Spotify and Apple Music. Since the pandemic, Belle is also the founder of “Classics From the Other Side”, a network that aims to promote chamber music collaborations between Asian artists studying abroad and local established artists.
